Removing Skype from a Surface Pro4

I herd yesterday that the virus/bug affecting Skype was only in versions prior to V8. Therefore I removed an old version yesterday only to find my camera no longer worked on my Surface Pro4. I contacted Microsoft support and 3 of their engineers worked for over 4 hours on my tablet, firstly they said it was a software problem, then I was told it was a hardware problem and my tablet would have to go back for replacement!! After further searching the internet I found other people had the problem of camera not working when they had removed Skype! And the only option was a windows reset, well to cut a long story short I reset windows and guess what my camera was fully operational. So Microsoft engineers there is a problem removing Skype and not a hardware problem.
